So if I were to go to a local muffler shop and ask for gibson
style they should be able to install that for me? Thanks a lot
 for your help!

Deleting your cats will get you louder, but I'm not sure
about deeper. What's the overall dimensions of the tip?
A small resonator might help you get that deeper note. I
say a mix of headers with a small resonator might work.

Also where at in the country do you live? A lot of
states have emission laws and removing them will cause
you to fail. Also the hard part will be finding a place
to remove them. A lot of state laws (even those in
states without emission testing) it's illegal for a shop
to remove them unless they're being replaced. The second
problem is you will need an 02 simulator. I know a
company that sells them, but I haven't seen anything yet
that for the frontier for deleting cats.

Mine does sound good now but I want it louder. My tip it
3in in dia and prob a foot long. I'm not sure but I think
 my
actual exhaust pipes are 2 1/4 and the man who put my
muffler on said if I go bigger out will throw off my back
pressure. I live in Tennessee so I dont think we have
emission law and I don't plan on moving. I just had this
 idea
tonight so I've not checked around to see if someone will
remove them. And what is a resonator and where can I but
 one??

 Thanks a lot!

Also do you kno where I can find headers for my frontier?

Good ole TN. I live in Utah but thanks to my job I'm
able to keep residence at TN and can do anything to my
truck and Utah can't touch me.

You're good on emission laws, just have to find a place
that will do it. But I know for a fact there's quite a
few small shops that would be willing for money.
Especially cash, not that I'm condoning removing your
 cats.

Your tip is fine, anything bigger will just make it look
a diesel which really won't work with the frontier look.

As for you situation, 4x4parts.com sells headers that
will eliminate your first cat, and also has the check
engine light eliminator that you'll need.

Try that out and see if it hits the tone you want from
your exhaust. It'll get louder, but also might become a
 little harsh.

A resonator is basically hollowed muffler. It will make
the truck a little quieter (depending upon the size) but
it will also smooth out the sound. You may also need it
to help keep some back pressure on the engine if you pull
 all 4 cats.

BTW, the largest size piping I'd recommend is 2.5" If
you're not going to supercharge or boost your truck 3"
will do more harm than good.

Yeah i've recently been looking to put a Flowmaster Delta 40 on my truck.  Im looking for help with choosing the right tip to fine tune the exaust noise.  I dont want a high pitch sound but was wondering how much of a difference will a tip make for the sound?  I've heard some say a lot and some say very little.  Ive read many reviews on exausts and for cost and sound I think the FM Delta 40's are a good choice but worried the sound may be too high pitched being its only a 6 cylinder.  Can anyone offer any advice on this??

I have a 40series on my 2.4 and it sounds pretty decent. I don't think its high pitched at all and it would probably sound great on the v6. I haven't noticed the tip makes much difference in the tone...unless you're doing a turndown. Thats not something i'd recommend. I had a cherrybomb with a turndown before I got the 40 series. I hated it on long trips.
Here's a link to my youtube video so you can see what it sounds like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyEkicUKyv0&feature=youtu be_gdata_player

Yeah that does sound pretty good even for a 4 cylinder.
What size pipe comes standard on a v6 Frontier? a 2.25 or
 2.5??

3.3L v6 come with 2.25. I have a 40 series on mine with a 3in. tip and
it sounds great. It has amazing interior sound also. Def. would
recommend a bigger tip if you were to get an exhaust.

I was thinking of replacing the whole setup for my exhaust
system from new headers, pipes, muffler and adding a tip...
only thing i'm wondering is if I will have to get a new
cat. with me increasing the size of the pipe up to 2.5".
Can I use the same cat or do i have to get a new one of
 those too?
