thanks guys

sorry man, i don't get to check this often, i did blocks in the rear, wish the devers were out at that time. prg has a full lift now so i'm just going to do that. the mini lift is a tease, you'll eventually want a larger lift

Hey Guys,

I bought a 2001 Frontier Crew Cab about a year ago that already had aftermarket torsion bars and real beefy aftermarket shakles, along with Rancho RSX9000 shocks...  I'm running 31x10.50 Toyo Open Countrys and hope to go up to 33x12.50s next tire change.  I play mainly in the sand and it does really well on and off road, but as always there is room for improvement.  I have already broken a leaf spring on the passenger side and the passenger side seems to be about a quarter inch lower than the drivers side in the rear after replacing the leaf spring with an OEM replacement.  There looks like there is some room for cranking the torsion bars and I am thinking about lifting it a little more.  I think that right now the only lift I am getting is from the shakles.  I noticed the lift kits for my truck all seem to be the 3 inch and have all of the stuff that I already have plus either add a leaf or blocks for the rear and new upper control arms for the front.  So, I'm thinking about getting the control arms and cranking the torsion bars to see how that does then possibly adding the blocks to to level it out or the add a leafs if rear end does not seem to level out after torsion bars are equally cranked.  Does anyone have any sujestions?  Do I really need the upper control arms?

i just picked up a 05 cc nismo. its got some 31 mud terrains on it but they
are weak. i am looking to get a lift but really wanting to keep it cheap. I am
favoring some spacers up front and leafs in the back i know a guy who did
the same on his taco and looks great. i am a bit confused with these leafs
and wondering what kind of lift kit i should get. any help would be
appreciated.

..

dubba-rr;

I run BFG ATs 31x10.50x 15. You can get a good deal at Costco. I cranked the torsion bars for a 5/8th inch in front and one inch lift blocks from Pep Boys in the rear. You need more clearance for the rear when off-roading a pick up truck. I removed the bumper for even more clearance and assembled a class three hitch to protect the rear sheet metal. Shocks OK.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

New to this forum. I have some questions about full coilover suspension for
my 2007 Frontier 4x4 crewcab longbed. I want to get myself some new
suspension for my 30th birthday in March and I need some help in a good
application for my truck i.e. kit to go with, how high to lift, how much offset
I need for my rims, etc. I do go out to the desert a lot, and when I drive I'm
really aggressive, so I want to purchase something good so I won't break my
truck. Already broke off all the molding in the front and ripped off the
license plate :). I plan to spend several thousand dollar, so price isn't really
an issue (to some extent). Any inputs?
