I have changed the oil twice and use Mobil 1 5W-30 with a
Nissan oil filter. The air filter is still the original
paper filter. The truck was broken in very carefully,
fowwlowing the owner's manual recommendations for the
first 1200 miles.

I just drove my 2007 Crew Cab 6 cylinder auto from PA to
southern VA and back and got 24.6 mpg on the 470 mile
run. I used premium fuel and kept between 6-65 mph. I
did make sure that I had air pressure of 37 or more in
my tires, used synthetic oil in the engine and rear diff
and stayed at the speeds mentioned above. In town, I
get far less, usually around 15-17 mpg. Make sure your
tire pressure is good and play with different octane
fuels.

I have noticed in the morning my A/C will
start to blow a fog through the vents and flow
is decreased. Because of this, I'm guessing
that my control unit is bad. I also sometimes
get spotty A/C performance during the hottest
part of the day.

I have a 2002 Nissan Frontier SE 4x4 Long Bed which is
getting about 10-11 miles per gallon in City driving. I
have taken it to the local Nissan Dealer who, after testing
the vehicle, indicated that there was nothing he could do
about the low milage. The only good thing about that
experience was that the dealer did not charge me for the
inspection.

John,

Couple thing's come to mine that might help: Check the
Aire Filter and if it is Old or Dirty change it out, Keep
the Tire's @ the Air Pressure or maybe a little bit higher
than Advised in Your Owner's Manual, make sure your Cat's
are in Good Shape, Try useing 89 octane and check useing
pen and paper, watch far ahead for Traffic Light's and if
they go Red, start letting off the Gas Way sooner than the
other car's that go up to the Light and Stomp on the
Brake's, Buy Tire's rated for better gas mileage, make
sure you are useing the correct Oil Viscosity per your
owner's manual, Try not to go over 3K rpm's and under 2K
will give even better mpg.

Those were just a few off the top of my head that might
help you.   City Driveing is the Worst for MPG for any type
of Vehicle, especially in Winter Time and the cold icy
condition's.

Good Luck,

I have 4700 miles on the truck and it is bone stock with
the Goodrich Long Trail tires. I bought it new 6 months
ago. It is an SE with Utilitrack, bed divider, full rear
seat but no roof rack or moonroof (sunroof?). I havbe only
added Nissan skidplates which are thin and not very heavy
as I use the truck forhunting and want to protect the
underside from brush, sticks, etc.

I live in what I would classify as a semi
rural area in SC. I very the last 856 miles of
mixed driving I have averaged 22.8 mpg in my
22 pro 4 X. Regular gas and tires at spec.
