Check engine lite comes on and code is vehicle speed sensor. So I replace the speed sensor and it still comes on. Tires are 30.950X15's. Truck is 98 XE 4WD with the 2.4 4 cyl. Would the larger tires cause this? The speedo is approx 2 mph off, ie 60 is actually 62 or 63.

Does the speedo work?? The signal comes from the speed sensor to the speedo head then to the ECU. Sometimes you can get away with removing the cluster and tightening the screws on the back for the circuit board. Most likely it will need a new speedo head.
