These are knows issues with these trucks. And some infiniti models.
Comming from a nissan/infiniti tech. I highly recomend you installing
a high quality external AT cooler. Cap off the factorey at cooler pipe
fittings to keep water from entering and causing any corrosion or
rustbuild up.

My wife wanted another Frontier, so I got rid of my Jetta
LX and took over the 05 Frontier King which had about
seventy grand with not an issue and she got a 2011
extended, with a stick!! Having read about all the
problems with the rad and thought my luck would run out,
I elected to swap out the thing and change all the
hoses..... rather than go for a ex cooler...we live in an
area between Pa and NJ which has usually cold winters and
thought that the idea behind the design made some
sense... So far the expensive after market rad has been
working fine as I am coming up to 91g's. It seems that
this issue has been a black eye for Nissan with a class
action lawsuit. The bottom line comes down to how good
the dealer repaired it, but I still would change and
flush out the system myself....as I still check mine
every week.

I have a 2012 V6 automatic, does anyone know it they have corrected this problem in the more recent trucks? If not I will install an external cooler before mine fails, but if it has been corrected I don't want to bother with it.

I have a 2006 nismo v6 auto.my transmission was replaced at
91000 .it is now guaranteed fo another 80000 miles. it cost
me 6400.00 to replace it. i am waiting for the law suit
give back some of my money. if you get a vibration in your
truck take it in right away.dose anyone know if they have
settled the law suit yet .

 i got my money back from nissan for my rad. and transmission and the new one is garnteed for 80000 miles. they extended the warranty to 100000 miles on the old tranny
