I installed my backup camera in my 2009 Frontier Crew yesterday and spent all day looking for the reverse signal wire in the cab and never did find that thing. The camera is working but i have to manually activate the screen. Does anyone know which and where the in cab reverse signal wire is located.

if not does anyone have a good wiring diagram of a 2009 fronty

NO. But the relay is in the rectangular relay box to the
left of the P/S res. (just in front of the IPDM E/R)

yep found the relay box first thing. tracing the wires back is near impossible without unwanted damage to the loom. ive read on other forums under the kick panels but had no luck. tried every single wire with my little meter. I think im just going to run a long lead all the way back. Still would like to get a good wiring diagram for future.

I just signed up here and am in the middle of installing my BU cam.  I've got a Mito mirror and a boyo license plate cam.  Am curious as to what your setup is.  If like mine, I'd appreciate any help on routing the wires from the mirror to the engine compartment.  My dealer gave me the diagram for the B/U lead in the eng comp.  I intent to run the camera and hot/gnd wires from the license plate holder to the eng. comp. and make my connections there.

BTW, I have a 2010 Pro 4x.

I am running a pioneer all in one head unit, Nav/DVD/HD radio/Bluetooth/USB/IPod it has a builti in screen and external vid with a seperate BU cam connection. I bought a seperate external liscence plate cam. Ended up running a seperate wire all the way back with the signal wire and tying it into the trailer harness. I did modify ut a bit though. Ran the head unit signal input wire to the tail harnes back up wires and ran the camera hot to be on off of the ignition. This way i can select the vid input on the head unit and watch the cam anytime i want and it still auto triggers when put into reverse. makes a great lane change and blindspot camera. I often loose people in the mirrors usually motercycles and if the cam is on i can catch them there.  only catch is that objects in the camera are closer than they appear lol.

Excellent!!  I'm working in my barn on mine today--maybe.  It's moving towards 27 degrees here in Louisiana.  May sit it out for a day or so.

Dont blame you. I hate being cold while working on cars. For routing i went through the center consol and through the rubber boot for the parking brake. This way i did not need to punch a hole anywhere. just used a stiff whire to push it through. for me it was the easiest way to go and as long as you keep it pulled close to one side it will not interfear with the mechanics and will still be watertight.
