We have a 2011 Frontier. Was on a dirt road, not even rough. 3 kids in the car when the side airbags deployed. We all received minor airbag type injuries. My daughter is now scared to death of them. Nissan won't fix them under warranty. They state that the sensors detected a roll over situation. Apparently I have never been safe in this truck backing out of or pulling in to my dirt driveway. It is a 4 wheel drive truck and we were not even on a 4 wheel road. We are livid and scared to get the truck back. Any one else with this problem. I hear it is common with the Xterra, and Nissan won't back those either. We need help.

If I am not mistaken, the air bags are deployed when the
sensors detect a change in pressure w/in the door, as when
you are hit from the side collapsing the door panel. There
is a customer that slammed his Sentra door while the
vehicle was running, which deployed the side air bags(he
was arguing w/ his ex. wife at the time, no one was in the
vehicle).
