I have an 02 frontier sc and had the knock code come up and i was and idiot
and instead of looking at all my options and just starting with the simple
ones first like the exhaust leak i moved the knock sensor. now on to my
question has any one replaced the knock sensor rather than just ripped the
wire out of the harness and then moved it? If so was it hard to take all of the
crap (supercharger, intake manifold, mid manifold) off and put back on. I
have a tiny bit of mechanical back ground so taking apart and putting back
together i dont think would be bad but if need be i have a mechanic that only
works on nissans and is very good and cheap he quoted me around 400-650
to move my sensor back and to fix the exhaust problem. Is this a good deal
or am i getting screwed.

I was wondering that too. My mechanic quoted me apx $530. I called another one and he said at least $400.

Just lask week i replaced the knock sensor on my 2001 Nissan Frontier, i thought you could reach it by going through the back and was completely disappointed that i couldn't haha, so i started to take off my intake, it only took about 2 to about 3 hours of actual work. since it was my first time actually taking the intake off, i took pictures and made marks of where parts went, etc. While i had my intake off, i decided to get new gaskets and clean up the intake, which had lots and lots of junk in it. But, as soon as i started to put it all back it wasn't hard until i got to the upper part of the intake, which was reconnecting vacuum lines, fuel lines, etc from the very back. But i had help from a friend who had tiny tiny hands. Overall, the job wasn't hard, but did take some time, if i did it with ease, so can you and I'm only 16 lol

Cheers!
