Hello:

I am replacing my drivers side front caliper and caliper bracket. The mounting bolt loosened and came out causing the caliper to lean up against the rotor and damage the caliper and bracket. SOO, I bring in the core return and order a refinished one, and the proplem is that the mounting bolts do not fit to place the unit back on the truck. we ordered another one from another parts place and same thing. In the end I went to several places and all the same result. For some reason the all the remanufactured caliper brackets have a smaller thread than the OEM mounting bolt. SOO whats the deal, how do I fix this? I have found nothing on the web, nor can I even find the smaller size bolt. Ideas?

The truck is a 2001 Frontier SE-V6 crew cab 4x4 non super charged.

Sounds like they are not looking up the part correctly.
Have you tried a salvage yard or maybe a dealer?

Hi all, Newbie here.

I own a 2K Frontier XE Crew Cab 2WD V6 AT and just discovered I have the same mounting bolt issue as helipilot1. My local part dealers are baffled and have very limited experience and additional info available on their parts databases. All auto stores in my area are supplying the same improperly fitted part. Going crazy with this one, has anyone found a solution to this front caliper bracket/mounting bolt issue?

sorry, left out of previous message that I have oversize 16 in wheels modified by previous owners which I suspect may be a factor in possible caliper mods.

..

Without seeing the parts... It would
seem a machine shop should b able to rethread
the part or make a bolt on a thread cutter lathe

It's been years since I've seen my brakes.

Good Luck.. Don S..
