I have noticed that now we are in winter, my idle shutter has disappeared. If I use the defroster, which uses the AC compressor, I have a smooth idle. Any chance temperature plays a factor? I only have the problem on hot days...

Thanks,
David

I had the shudder at idle problem with my 2012, frontier/
4.0 motor. Every time I stopped the truck it shuddered
badly! no ac on, not even my foot on the brake, nothing to
create a load, my truck is a stick also....Took the advice
of a couple folks on here and took the truck back to the
dealer and requested they, clear the self learn control and
perform the idle learn procedure, and also raise the idle
from 630 rpm to 750 rpm....Thanks for the good advice on
here folks. The truck now idles like a kitten purring.

I have a 09 Frontier.. Has 62k on it and has had same idle and shutter issues since I got it.. Same BS from dealer.. I think we all got ripped off.. Sad cause it had the best rating for small p/u that year.. I believe it has something to do with control mod.. or ignition issue.. Anyone figures it out.. Let us know! thanks

My truck has not shudder once since having the dealer clear the self learn control and perform the idle learn procedure. Then have the idle adjusted from 630 to 750. Good advice from frontierguy and other folks about this problem.

My 2012 has 65000miles and I have never noticed a shudder at idle. Maybee I am lucky.

I have 2011 frontier sv automatic. It's also vibrating when in drive or
reverse. My dealer told me they can't raise rpm? Wondering if it can be
done by dealer and they just don't want to.

Does anyone bother to read the previous post on this
issue????? It is not a matter of just raising the idle
speed, which is possible with the Consult 3 scan tool, but
clearing the self learn and performing the idle learn
procedure.
