I have a 2008 Frontier. The low tire pressure light stays on (after blinking for awhile) and all my tires have adequate pressure. Any ideas for a remedy?

..

Welcome to the Group!!

Cold weather makes the air in the tires shrink and seems to cause other problems with that system. Our '08 Camry tire pressure light came on the other cold day for the first time. I was going to put a small piece of black electrical tape over it because the tires checked out OK but the light went out on it's own!

I walk around and look at the tires every day before driving.

Good Luck.. Don S..

If the pressure is normal, then you may need a new sensor in a tire.  Had the same issue.  Light came on after checking ait pressure which was 33 in all tires.  Cost me over $100 at the dealer for a new sensor.

Okay...so far I've got maybe a faulty sensor in a tire (don't know which one though) that would cost $100 to fix...or cover the warning light with a piece of electrical tape. I think I'm going to go with the tape! Thanks a lot, guys, I really appreciate the feedback. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, all!

The tape is OK.  However, in Pennsylvania where I live you cannot pass inspection with the light on.  it is a mandatory repair.  So the tape may buy you time but you may ultimatley pay the piper.

Check your local inspection laws.

If the light is blinking on start up and then stays steady, you have a bad
sensor. Although rare, i have seen it where the BCM cannot
communicate with one or more tire sensors causing the light to flash and
stay on. Id bring it in for service to be sure its not a BCM problem.

I have the same warning lite every winter. I add a few pounds to my tires and it goes away, think I'm at 35 PSI right now.

Don't forget to check your spare tire. If it has a sensor, it might just be low pressure in your spare. This happened to me this winter on a Toyota that we own.

Does anyone know what kind of sensor a 2006 Frontier 4x4 would use?  At Autozone a tire pressure monitoring sensor for this truck goes from $4 - $85.  If it's the cheap one I'll just think about doing it myself.
