put truck in 4weel drive low and pulled a bush out in reverse and the truck stayed in low what can i do now

i had a friend get under and pound on the motor while i used the switch and i have been doing that 4  times. i have it in 2 wheel drive now but am going in for a oil change so will work on it to see if it frees up other wise will go to dealer. 600.00 for a new motor for the 4 wheel drive.thanks don

well i read the book and it said push on the brake when you change the switch from 4 wheel to 2 wheel and it worked.solved the problem

Wow... I never would have thought of that. It's almost like reading directions when building a kids toy...
My '99 has the old school 4x4 shift lever.
I often worry about the automatic front hubs disengaging but it always has.

also the trans should be in neutral, wheels steered
straight ahead. after a hard pull and using on dry ground
it may "BIND" the transfer, backing up to relieve the
strain helps also.
