Hello folks,
quick question, my 08 AT has a slight jerk in it when coasting to stop sign from 60 MPH, not stepping on the gas at all.

Feels like the tranny downshifts as the speed decreases, is that supposed to happen? Watching the tach it bounces from like 800RPM to 1100 RPM as the tranny is downshifting through the gears.

It has almost 73K on it.

Thanks,
David

..

IMHO...
The trannies have to down shift at some point in order to be ready to give you the right gear in case you suddenly need power.
I use engine braking a lot in the Colorado mountains but have to manually (at highway speeds) down shift to get enough gear reduction to do the job on long 7% grades.
It's possible it is shifting two gears at one time. How long since the at fluid was changed? Check the color and smell.

Good Luck.. Don S..
