Ok, so the previous owner of my 2001 Frontier was a bit of a DIY-er
without much desire to find out how to do something before he did it.
The mechanical things are relatively easy to fix, but he went to town in
the electronics department. It is dodgy connectors, marrettes, chewing
gum and electrical tape galore.

For some unclear reason he cut the green wire for the daytime running
lights and ran his own little wire across to the radiator to hook them up
together. Very strange.

Now I am trying to bring it all back to how it is supposed to be. From the
wires he cut it seems like the regular bulb in the orange reflector/light
on the side comes on with the daytime running lights and is on
continuously. That seems odd because it means that from the side you
have no visible turn signal for your fellow road users.

I think it should be that the top white light is on all the time and
the orange light on the side and the orange light at the front only
come on when indicating a turn.

So! Who has a first generation Frontier and can tell me when what
comes on in the front? I just want to be sure...

Once again, thank you.
Gerben

..

I bought my '99 new and it should be quite similar to yours.

First... Do I have daytime running
lights and if I do how to turn them on? They are not required in Texas.

If the guy hooked the two yellow lights together it might be that one may have failed.
I'd try disconnecting them

Hope it doesn't blow up.. Don S..
