Have a 2007 Frontier Crew cab SE 4x4 with 140,000 mostly trouble free miles on her. I'm the original owner.

Had oil change and new shocks/struts installed just because they were original and my son who did the work(and has repair shop) said I had a small hole forming on pass side frame  ahead of the RR wheel. Doing a search it seems the Frontier has had frame rust issues....mostly with frames built in Spain with a lot of graphic pictures of Frontier frames snapping in half!  Just curious if any members here have experienced holes, broken frames from rust etc.  Nissan is aware of the issue and some are calling for a recall like Toyota did.

..

Never heard of that yet.

Me and my frontier stay away form salt. I have not touched a salt shaker in many years.

My Uncle had a new Ford down in Corpus in the 1950s. It fell completely apart in less than six years.

I live 55 miles SW of DFW airport They don't even salt the roads.

Good Luck.. Don S..

on the 2nd generation Frontier.

Thanks for the replies. Must just be the European versions then like I saw on the net. I plan on keeping my truck for some time and have been keeping body rust repaired as it happens but had second thoughts if the frame was going to be a issue.

Thought I would take a picture of the hole in mine I was talking about. Ahead of RR wheel on inside frame rail.  Not sure if there is a "fix" or not.   Just this past weekend had a RF brake line rust and break away while out of town to trailer back a classic car my son and I bought. Lucky for me son is a mechanic and was able to install a universal replacement steel line to get us back home.

Well, I guess I can't add a image direct from computer. stupid.
