Hi All,

Im Shane from New Zealand, the small country next to Australia way down in the south Pacific!

Over this side of the world we have Nissan pick-up trucks called 'Navara', not sure if you guys have heard of them.  They are pretty much like the U.S.A Frontier versions really.  They all have chrome grilles, whereas your versions have the sports type one which looks better.  We also have very limited colours, they are very rare in black but the majority of them are Midnight Blue, dark green, maroon and silver which aren't the best of colours.  White and black look the best.  Apart from that, and the fact they are RHD.  We also dont have the supercharged 6 cylinder model I believe there is?

I have not yet got a Navara, but am hoping to get one soon, just checking out this site to see what all yours looks like.  There was one on here that was white and had black rims - very nice.

Shane

I've heard of it, and I know almost all the names for the overseas models.  I would also like to point out you have one up on us.  They do not offer a diesel here in the U.S.    And too bad you guys didn't stay with the better looking body design.

And for those who don't know what the names are.  You can go here.  www.nissan.com.au

It's also too bad you guys have the Maxima name, instead of the Ciefero, you could make some money finding badged items, and sending them here.

Are you saying the D22 model (2001-2005) Nissan pick-up is a lot better looking?  I do agree with that.  However, in NZ here, we still have this model getting sold as brand new, so they must still make them.  The new D40 model (2006) is sold here but only as one model, the ST-X.  I didn't realize you don't have the Turbo Diesel model available in the USA?!  So what sort of engines are in yours?  I think we have a Petrol 2.5ltr.

INTERNATIONAL QUESTION:  Aside from our safety and emissions standards which seems to water down alot of vehicles before they come stateside...Are there major differences between the Euro or J-Spec Frontiers to our US versions?  I know sports cars : lots of j-specs seem to be quicker than the their US brethren....  just curious on the fronties.

I don't really know the differences.

I do have a PDF file of the Navara with all the pictures and info with specifications.  Wouldn't the US 4.0ltr 6 be the quickest?  The Turbo Diesel version is 110kW/314Nm torque.

The 4.0L V-6 would be the quickest of the 2, but TD is better for towing, and mileage.

The 3.0ltr Turbocharged Diesel is 147HP which I calculated.  I don't think there are major differences ChuckNorris, apart from probably Diesel variants and RHD.  I believe the US versions are the best though.  In NZ, we have very limited models and colours.  And we only have SWB (Short Wheel base) version.

This is the Navara I am hoping to get, minus the canopy on the back.  A few other mods like tinted windows, new rims, exhaust system and hopefully a Frontier Grill (the Navara has a chrome grill with mesh, check out my pictures)...
