The code is defined by my readers website http://www.canobd2.com as the following error description....

"Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' Signal Range/Performance"

Anyone ever experience this? It flags this error red as severe/fix now. What does the repair work entail?

Thanks

Well, I found a pic on where the sensors are. See attached image.

If I replace the bad sensor, will it clear the SES?

Has anyone replaced one on a 2005 Frontier Nismo Crew, manual 6 speed tranny? Was it easy or do you have to be tripple jointed?

Need to clear/fix because it needs to get smogged.

Have never had to replace one yet. Some things to check
first would be: harness and connections, sensor, camshaft,
starter motor, starting circuit check and battery. Might
also want to clean and tighten all engine grounds.

Wouldn't Nissan be liable for a failed smog test for the first 7 years?

NO. TW cats are 8/80 along with ECU, not the individual
sensors.

OK, here's an update. The dealer replaced "Camshaft sensor 'A'". The total cost was $273 (parts labor) + $35 (diagnostic).
All is good and working now.

My extended warranty paid 100% of it.

Now what I meant to mention (but failed to) was that when the SES light came on, it was during a hard acceleration, high RPM. Dunno if that really matters though.
