hi,

I have an 01 frontier (4 CYL, 5 speed, 2wd). it has the tranmsission model FS5W71C in it. I need to replace it as it's starting to make noise. will any nissan transmission with FS5W71C stamped on it work?

I'm having a hard time finding a used frontier transmission. all the salvage yards tell me their computer compatability database says only a frontier transmission will work. but after doing some research, I have noticed some older nissan vehicles have the FS5W71C transmission in them (240SX, 300ZX)........ all replies are much appreciated.
