I've been trying to figure out if an 05' tailgate will
fit on a 02'. Haven't had much luck figuring that one
out. I know a hardbody tailgate will fit but can't find
any info on the 05' fitting.

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but come on, no
one knows?
I know someone that has an 08 and will have to do the
remove and test fit on my 02.

The first Frontiers beds were narrower than the cabs.
I think they used the same beds as the last of the 1997 Hard-Bodies. I'd bet the second generation Frontiers with larger cabs also have wider beds.
The tail gates could be the same on the '08's as the '02's but I doubt it strongly.
Wrecking yards used to have a book that told about interchangeability. I'd call a Nissan parts place an ask...

I see a few of the later models around that I know the
people well enough that I'll ask and at the least put a
tape measure to.
