New lights are in.  Katana's.  Wow.  Having trouble with the adjustment though.  The adjusting nut has no effect on the light.

Hey Jim,

I've read about the Katana's. I may get some one day, but
so far I can see good with the OE Nissan Bulb's.

My headlight's were adjusted too low from the Factory, and
I needed to adjust them up just a Wee Bit. That made a
Big Difference.

I meet other vehicle's on the Roadway with aftermarket
LED's and many are not adjusted correctly and Blind my
field of Vision. I hope they get a Ticket for
Disrepecting the other motorist's that share the same road
with. Just another Dangerous Driver on the Road, that we
have to contend with.

I thought about getting the OE Nissan Fog Light's but I
can see good enough with just the headlight's, so I
painted the Fog Light Insert's the same as the Bumper so
they wouldn't stand out. I figure Nissan had the Plastic
impregnated with Black so Owner's would want the Fog Light
Kit to look better.

Also with the Fog Light's, I read that they don't really
help that much, I don't know, but it's another Bulb that
will need replaceing. I'll get the kit down the road,, if
I feel I need Fog's.

I'm almost finished with this service. Got the Tire's
rotated and just need to take the Rear Vent out, clean it
with diesel fuel and blow it out with the air compressor.
Took the Cabin Filter's out and Blew the dirt out with the
air compressor. I've done that several time's, blowing
the Cabin filter's out with compressed air, work's good
and save's money. I think I'll also lower the Spare, wash
it if dirty, Armorall the Tire, check the air pressure,
and Grease the Chain Gearing,

I also armorall all the plastic light len's when I wash
the Truck to help keep them from drying out. This is the
1st Vehicle that I've done that on. So far so good. The
Headlight, bed light, and tail light len's still look
clear as New. I'd much rather do that than get New Len's
or Len's Cleaning Kit. Time will tell if it help's.

Regards,

I got the cheap ebay fog lights just to see if they made a difference.  They did.

You can really spend big bucks if not careful.  If you try, get inexpensive ones first to try them out.

The frequency of the light is reflected more than the yellower halogen.  That whiter light really makes things pop.

Good luck either way.

Jim,

At some point if I see a bargain price on the OE Nissan
Fog Light's that include the Replacement Stalk I may pull
the trigger. I alway's try to stay OE.

One thing about replaceing the Regular Bulb's with LED's
is the power consumption is probly less. On my SV the
Altenator isn't up to the task for Rechargeing the Batry
when I only drive 39 miles every other week. Even with a
Brand New AGM 650cca battery.

I use my Smart Charger 3 amp sp1297 Schumacher about once
a month to get the batry back to full charge. So the
Led's should help in that respect, Plus being brighter is
2 good advantage's to replaceing with LED's.

One thing that the Fog Light's might help is being able to
see object's on the Road that I need to go around like a
Tire Carcass, Dog, etc. But 300 $'s is a good size chunk
out of my budget.

When I was much younger, I didn't mind spending extra just
to see if it was worth it. Now it's more like, Make Sure
I Need IT, before buying IT.      After rotateing my
tire's I do see that it is about time to replace my 1/2"
Torque Wrench as it's starting to rust and make the Torque
#'s harder to read. Now that's where the $'s go up when
going to a better 1/2" Torque Wrench. I'll probly check
on EBay and Amazon to see if they have a better wrench
with a better price than Harbor Freight. I'd like to get
one that won't rust,, like SS or Aluminum or Brass
caseing. Brass will tarnish pretty quickly but can be
repolished with Brasso.

Regards,

As my eyes have gotten older, I found driving in rain at night is not fun.  The fog lights help with the rain and visibilty.

The fog lights I used were just bulb replacements.  Easy change out for me.

There are 2 bad things about Harbor Freight.  One it is Harbor Freight and two everything is made in China.

Remember when we thought made in Japan was bad?  I wish more stuff was.

Jim,

If it weren't for Harbor Freight, I wouldn't have been
able to afford the tool's that I have now. That's the way
it was before Harbor Freight, only a Professional Mechanic
or Rich Person could afford to buy tool's.

That's the reason Harbor Freight came to be. Somebody
with enough money saw that the common man, needed tool's
but couldn't afford them.

There's nothing wrong with the Chinese and their good's,,
but You have to use common sense enough to know what to
buy and what not to buy. Did you know that Harbor Freight
Hand tool's have a lifetime warranty?

My Attitude is, I don't care where something is made, if
it's what I NEED and AFFORD, they can make it in Outer
Space and Bring it in on Flying Saucer's. If I go broke
buying Expensive Tool Brand's, they won't give 2 Hoot's or
Holler's about me, and knowing that, I buy what I need at
the Lowest Price that I can find it at.

The 20 gallon Part's washer that I bought from Harbor
Freight back in '05 is still pumping diesel. That's just
one of many tool's that I bought from Harbor Freight
Year's and Year's ago.

I hear it all the time buy local, don't buy online. What
a Bunch of Smoke. They are so out of touch it is
pethetic. They actually want me to pay more to support a
Business. If I could pay more to support a Business, then
I wouldn't have to do all the DIY Stuff that I do and I
would Pay somebody else to do the stuff for me.

It's not the Chinese but the Corporation's that moved
their Plant's to China and then resale the stuff made in
China back to us.

You said; Remember when Japan Stuff was bad, and now they
are good.

Well it's the same with China now and believe me China is
producing some Very Very Good Mechandise at Bargain
Price's. And on the FlipSide, I remember when American
Made was Quality, but now a lot of it is lower quality
than Made in China.

My DeWalt Cordless Driver's came with a Sticker that said,
"Made in USA". Bologna, if it was made in the USA,, it
would be embossed in the Plastic.

Probly what was Made in America was that "Sticker" Saying
it was made in the USA.

My Vision is also getting worse with Glasses but getting
better without Glasses.

Regards,

I have issues with some Chinese stuff.  Some of their products are subpar.  I have broken 3 C clamps in the middle.  I have some made in US many years ago, they have been fine.

The materials of some of their products give off some harmful vapors.  The materials are not illegal in China, but are here.

I buy local if I need it quick, but do look at all my options.  I am a poor person after all.

Jim,

We just have to use common sense no matter who make's what
we buy.

Have you seen HB's Vice Grip Clamp's? I think that I
bought one, so I need to check my tool box. If I didn't
then I need to put that on my list for Harbor Freight. I
buy so much from HB, that I forget what I bought.

I checked 1/2" Torque Wrench's on EBay and Amazon but the
price's for a better quality than HB offer's are just too
high for me to justify.

Regards,

You are right about common sense.

I have so many vice grips, I can't count them all.

I believe I have 3 or 4 torque wrenches.  I have a son who borrows and uses my tools.  So, when I buy a new one, I often have to kiss it goodbye.  He's getting better though.

Happy 4th.

Jim,

I was young once, but a lot of time's I refuse to admit it
or are too ashamed to tell anybody.

That's really good that you have been teaching Your Son
how to use tool's. So many now, have no idea how to use
tool's and are repulsed by the idea of getting Oil and/or
Grease on their hand's. I was like that too when I was
Young, but it took A Real Life Budget to cure me of that.
Now I actually like doing my own maintenance and haveing
the opportunity to get Nasty Dirty, knowing that I'm
saveing money Doing It Myself.

Happy 4th to You and Your Family as well. Don't forget to
wear your mask and I hope none of you get Covid. I've
seen surgical mask's on EBay, 50 for about 11 $'s, so the
price's have came down quiet a bit.

I do wish I could afford a Better Quality 1/2" Click Type
Torque Wrench, but I can make do with HF until/If one
become's available.

Regards,
