Well it's the first time I've been a newbie to anything automotive in a very long time, but I just picked up my '07 XE tonight and I'm very much excited.

I've been driving and modding VWs for about 25 years and convinced myself that I needed a truck. I had a friend at a dealership get me a very nice Quest SL (for my Wife) for a great price a few months ago and started looking at the Frontier seriously after convincing myself that I could get rid of my VW and my work van.

One truck that I could shuttle the kids to basketball practice in, drive daily, and use for my carpentry jobs was the target. This XE was the ticket.

I'm used to people being passionate about their rides, and I'm stoked about moving up to a Nissan (I kept my Golf and will be dropping a new VR6 in it that will come home in the bed of the XE ;)

My XE isn't bare bones (Power, XE Preferred, bed liner) but it is begging for OEM mods. That mentality kept me in VW's for this long.

I'm going to look for Utili-Tracks first, and newer NISMO wheels next.

Dork I am. But look at anyone driving a more than stock VW and they are the same.

Are the Nissan folks the same as far as that goes?

Hope so.

Welcome to the org.

Frontier owners tend to love their trucks, and tend to not care if anyone doesn't like how their truck looks.

But that doesn't go for Nissan owners in general.  I also have a 90 Nissan Maxima, and over in the Maxima.org forums we get a lot of ricer wannabes.  They want their Maxima done up just like the one in F&F.

Me.... I'm building mine up as a sleeper.
