hey guys, i just bought a 2005 king cab SE with the power options. I need to get either a keyless entry, or an alarm system, seeing nissan only put one keyhole on the driver side, with no keyless entry on mine. i am kinda worried about taking it in, seeing its brand new. i hate when people rip up the interior for an alarm system, especially when its a brand new truck, and those guys wont know how to work on these. sooo, should i take it in, or buy an alarm and do it myself? i also heard, nissan sells the fob (little remote thing), for $135 bucks. can i just go buy this for keyless entry...., thanks guys.

by the way, ill try to help make this forum a little more lively

Well both routes can be a headache... one more than the other.

One route is the dealer... but there's no garuntee the dealer knows what they're doing either.  And a $135 is a bank buster just for one little fob.

Another route is a local business.  If you were close to me I'd recommend a place.  But I have no idea where you are.  Honestly... a good DEI (Viper) system would be the best way to go.  You spend more up front.  But you'll have less of headache down the road.

If you're around the NY/NJ area, I do have someone I can recommend, and has decent prices.

Btw... if you decide on aftermarket alarm... I'd fork up the little bit more money and get the remote start.  Handy little things, I love mine to death.

I'm not a big fan of National chains... especially BB and CC.  I prefer local shops where you can always find a better deal
