Well tomorrow I'm taking my truck in to have a major upgrade.

I already sold my old box and subs.  Been driving nuts driving around without bass.

But here's the plan for this year thus far.

-Dynamat
-Alarm/Remote start
-Custom Vented box
-Flush mounted amp
-4 Memphis M-Class 12" subs
-500 D Memphis Amp

Then next year I'll be installing a 1100 D to help push the subs even better.  As well as getting new components.  And hopefully have enough money to get the Kenwood Nav/DVD DD H/U

Ok... I picked up the truck today.  God I love my remote start.  Well worth the money.

I'll be taking more pics tomorrow after work.  It started raining today.

Ok sorry I have posted any information up about it.  But I've been busy with work.  Plus friday was cruisers night so I had to go show it off.

1st off, I need a more powerful amp.  The 500D from Memphis pushes these subs, but the gain is all the way up.  It does thump though.  Co-worker complained it was hitting so hard it hurt his back.

The amp rack was nixed till I get the new amp.  I'm still waiting on my final bill.  Hopefully I'll have enough left to have the door motors for the remote start/alarm.

The plans for next year are thus.

Kenwood Double Din Nav/DVD head unit ($2300)
Memphis MC1100D ($560)
Memphis MCA150 ($200)
Memphis M-Class 6.5" Multi sync component set ($400)
Custom plexiglass amp rack on top of the box

More pics can be seen on my Cardomain site.  Just click the www link button below.  This setup was built by Mobile FX in Rapid City, SD.  (another I'm too lazy project)

I havne't had a chance to get it metered yet.  They're still in the break in phase.  I'm really picky on that.  Even my buddies at Mobile FX are like "geez dude"

What products did you have before?  Just curious.  I've had really good relations with them, and know most of their products by heart.

Last time I competed, I was using 2 single sealed boxes.  With RF punch Z 12"s.  And the Memphis 500D amp.  I hit 147.6 db, and took 3rd overall in the 0-500 watt class.

This year I know I'll blow it of the water.

So I attribute more to lack of knowledge on the guy's part than the product.  All stereo equipment is not protected against such things.  Without proper tuning, break in, and care of my system it could do the same thing.

I've been doing stereo installs for over 7 years now.  And I've seen that happen plenty of times.

I used to have a set of RF Punch Z's and they lasted me for 3 years.  I know people around here that couldn't keep a set for 6 months.  They said it was because the subs were junk.  I never had a single problem out of them.

If you ever decide to get back into systems let me know.  I'm always glad to help.

Actually Yes man im really looking to get a system in my standard cab. What kind of subs would you suggest with the right amount of airspace needed to fit behing the seat. I can make a slim box but then its like the mass made boxes at walmart that the airspace is never the same.

What do you suggest?
