I am picking up a coachmen Blast 150 toy hauler on Saturday and need to get the seven pin connector from nissan BUT the trailer has electric brakes SO what else do I need , I've been told just the seven pin or possibly a sub harness for under the dash? and also a electronic brake controller? Anyone towing a TT with electric brakes please help me figure out what I need.

Glenn, the Titan comes with a sub harness for the trailer brake that plugs in near the steering column, then attaches to the brake controller. For the Frontier, have never seen one with a trailer brake set-up. How big of a trailer is it? If it has a Nissan hitch and harness, that is a 7 pin connector, but again, have never seen a trailer brake set-up. Let me do some research at work tomorrow.
On another note, I'm in 1st place in the harescramble series with 4 races left in the season. How did your trip north go?

I am installing the 7- pin plug in from Nissan, the truck had the "tow pkg" installed when I bought it but only a four pin, under the dash by the brake pedal are two factory pigtails ,could this be a pre wire for controller? The fuse box under hood looks to have some sort of electric brake relay in it too.

Congrats on the season, keep up the good work and ride smart. Hope you finish strong and bring home the gold! I am getting ready to start my season (sept 13th is round one).

The trip up north went very well, trailer towed fine. We did some great riding on the Harleys up in N.H. but it did rain most of our 2 weeks away and we didnt ride as much as we would have liked.

Thanks for the quick reply, if you dig up any info I would appreciate it as I am running out of time to solve this issue.

Glenn, checked at work today, the Frontier does have a connector to the right of the steering column(taped to a main harness under the dash) that will plug into the brake controller sub harness(Nissan # 24167-ZH02A), then attach to the brake controller. All the trailer connectors I have installed from Nissan, have all been 7 pin. Are you sure you have a Genuine Nissan installation? In the right kick panel, there should also be a sub harness with 2 relays(3 if manual trans).
Good luck,Dave.

I got the 7- pin kit from Nissan and installed the plug out back then went in the passenger kick panel to install the relays and jumper and found they were already there. Must of been from the factory, right? Anyway I have a controller and I see the pigtail under dash to connect to but I do not want to cut into the existing wires SO I must get the sub harness you mention to make for a clean install which I could reverse if needed.

Thanks for all the info Dave. I think I have it under control now.

I'll let you know how it all turns out when I get the new rig back to the house.
