Welcome to the group!

The rear differentials and bearings as well as the transmission can get very hot when driving fast or pulling trailers.
Think about a differential cover with cooling fins and synthetic heat resistant gear lube.
Automatic transmission coolers can be mounted under the bed away from heat sources. And synthetic gear lub for the manual Trannies
Be sure to take 30 minute cool down stops on long mountain grades... both up hill and down hill. for the running gear and the brakes.
Make sure the brake system is in top condition. Some times it's more difficult to stop than to go...

Read your Owner's Manual, and do not exceed the Maximum Combined Gross Weight.  Also do not exceed the Maximum Frontal Area of Trailer.  Follow all guideline's in regard to Hitch and Brake's.

A One time pull is one thing,, but Frequent or Several Time's is another.

Like Lakota said, make sure you have the optimum Axle Oil, and changed per the Maintenance Schedule.

You need to provide more info about your Truck ie,  Mileage, AT or MT, Model, etc.  Put info in Signature like Lakota did,, so it'll show up on all your post's.

It has been claimed that the oil does not break down but heat reduces the additives in the oil. As the fuel mileage drops from the added load it also means added heat and that goes for the whole running gear.
I think the differential, brakes and transmission get the worst of it.

You will probably do real well.. Don S..

For the '13 model, the max towing is 3500 lbs. and maximum gross combined weight is 7940 lbs(Truck and Trailer Weight combined).

I ususally figure 1000 lbs below maximum towing weight for passenger & cargo weight, which give's you a maximum towing of about 2500 lbs.

Be sure to make sure all the tire's are @ optimum air pressure.   You'll probably need to disengage Over Drive to keep the Transmission from cycleing in and out of Top Gear, especially on hills.  Depending on Wind, you may be able to stay in OV when on Level Ground,, but don't lug the engine.

Make sure the AT Fluid is at the proper level,, and the Coolant is at proper level in the Radiator.  All Simple thing's that are known,, but overlooked by many untill the Warning light's and Buzzer's start to go off.

Remember to read the Owner's Manual on Towing and The Breakin schedule when towing.

Take it easy on your Truck;  After the 50 mph 500 mi. Breakin Towing;  Then maybe something between 55 and 65, depending on type of road,  but listen to the engine, and use common sense.   I think that you'll be fine, as long as you don't forget,, that you are Very Near the Maximum Practical Towing Weight.
