My 2007 Frontier XE 5 speed has developed a strange vibration in the steering wheel upon deceleration.  Nothing when running at an even speed or accelerating, just when you take your foot off the gas, it doesn't matter what speed or gear, 60 mph or 30 mph, the wheel starts buzzing.  It only has about 7000 miles on the odometer and the tire pressure is 35 psi all around.

The confusing bit for me is that when you depress the clutch.....it stops.  It's like the steering rack is bolted to the motor and when the torque changes, it happens.  I have to go for a service soon and the dealer will likely say "nothing we can find" or "it's the tires".  So if anybody has experienced this, I would like to hear about it.  Apart from the cockeyed drivers seat and this, the truck has been trouble free and a pleasure to own,

... Welcome to the group and let us know what the dealership says...

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Most of the countries we import our food and goods from hate our guts… do you think for a minute they treat the food and merchandize with loving care? Globalization Sucks for the average American… but our enemies, and big business, and our politicians

love it!

Well, what I thought would happen, did.  Took the truck to the dealer and went on a 15 minute drive with the service manager, he said that he had a 4 cylinder that was just as bad.  I said that having a shake that bad wasn't acceptable in a new Nissan and that he should not have to live with it either.  We took his truck for the same ride and it was the same to worse than mine.

I insisted that he call Nissan, which he did.  Their response is that it is a "harmonic resonance" that "some, but not many" had complained.  So apparently it is the exhaust that is causing the problem and we are supposed to live with is...no isolation offered, just poor engineering of the exhaust, they are not even going to remedy it for the 2008 models.

I remember that in the eighties that VW had an exhaust problem, when customers complained, they mounted a braided stainless covered rubber connector that came with diesels and it fixed the problem.  Not very happy with this, any ideas for a self fix???

Thanks for reporting back the sad news.

If you can find a very old experienced muffler shop with a lot of beat-up cars sitting around see what they say. In the old days we could play with the carburetor and timing on some Fords that would do that.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Globalization is a Corporate / Political plan designed to reduce the American blue collar worker to the lower standards of living of the third world blue collar workers
