I have a 2002 supercharged crew cab long bed, with the 3.4L V6 and a 4 speed automatic trans. I was washing the truck with a pressure/steam washer and sprayed down the engine to remove the mud from some recent off roading (probly shouldn't have done this, i know). Now while driving the engine will rev up to about 4000rpm before the transmission will shift into the next gear, and it shifts quite hard. Also the "service engine soon" light has turned on, and when I turn the key to the ON position the O/D Off light flashes 16 times before turning off. I have allready replaced the ATF, and I am thinking I may have shorted a sensor or something. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the dropping resister on your 3.3 SC v-6 is unplugged, open or corroded connection. It is located on the inner fender next to the battery.

I checked the connection on that resister and it seemed
OK. I sprayed some QD electronic cleaner in there just to
make sure. I just went on a test drive and nothing has
changed. Interestingly, when pulling away from one
stoplight it seemed to shift through the 1st 3 gears
normally but had trouble getting into 4th, and the rest
of the drive it would still rev to 4000.
Just to be certain, the connection you are referring to
is mounted to a metal bracket which is bolted to the
inner fender, correct? There was also an unplugged
connection further down on the same conduit (behind the
headlight), but there didn't seem to be anything for it
to plug into.
would this problem explain the "service engine soon"
light as well?

Yes, have it checked for codes.

Someone at my work had a code reader so we extracted the
codes. Heres what it came up with:
P0732 A/T second gear signal fault
P1705 Throttle position sensor to A/T signal fault
P0328 Knock sensor circuit high input
I just cleaned the connections to the throttle position
sensor, so I'll see if that works. Otherwise I'll have to
get my hands on a volt meter and test the sensor.
Any ideas or help with the other codes?

I would concentrate on the P1705 first, as that could cause the P0732. P0328 will need to replace the knock sensor which is under the intake manifold. The procedure for replacing the TPS is quite lengthy and involved, best to be performed by a knowledgeable Nissan dealer.
