I have a 2005 Frontier with 92K that was running great until yesterday. When I start it up the Check Engine light flashes very quickly, the engine starts and is firing but sputtering badly. When i attempt to give it gas nothing happens. Does any one have an idea whats wrong?  Perhaps a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter?

Thanks!

Its a 6 cyl. I finally got it to run correctly tonight by switching the relays! Its a temporary fix as the fog light relay is now in the ECM spot(i think).  Does any one have a diagram of the IPDM specifically which relay is the ECM?

Apparently the IPDM is known to go bad on some frontiers/titans. Turns out its usually only one relay causing the problem.

Does anyone know where I can buy a new relay? and what the model number is?

Supposedly the little black relays are not available separately. If you look at them, they have different #'s on them even though they look identical. I have a bunch of them from IPDM E/R's if you can get some #'s I could send you some. Isn't there a directory on the inside cover as to what goes where in the IPDM E/R????

Frontierguy I will check for the diagram again but i didnt see one on the box. The ECM is the only different relay- It has a diode. The numbers for the ECM are Nais 5  ACM33211 M09

THe numbers for the others are Nais 4 ACM33201 M08

If you have those I would love to get them from you!

The Titan guys have been having the same problem check out this great link on the subject. Unfortunately Digikey (or anyone else) does not have the ECM in stock but they do have the other relays.

Great info. I will check Mon at work and see what I have. How about a salvage yard or you-pull-it yard, any in your area?

That would be great if you have one Frontierguy! I went to a you-pull-ityard, only two mid 80's Nissans in the whole place.

NG on the relays. I have a bunch of the 33201 relays. One of the other guys has a 33211, but he drives a Titan and didn't want to part with it. I'm still concerned that the problem may be in the IPDM E/R and switching the relays may have disturbed a connection enough to make it run correctly??? They don't allow us time to experiment, just replace the IPDM E/R and move on!! The next one I come across, I'll hang onto it if you can't come up with one.

Thanks I appreciate you looking for that, Bummer it didnt work out.

I know have another problem, when I begin to stop and push my clutch and let off the gas, my oil pressure will drop. I imagine it has to be related to the recent relay problems. Any ideas on what could be happening and how it could be fixed?

Seen some failures with the oil pressure sending unit, easy to replace.
