those are the codes i am throwing.  so the purge solenoid seems to be what i have figured out for 446, but to diagnose it, i just plugged the lines, so see if the computer sees that as doing the same as closing the valve.  it didnt help.  the lines running from the back to under the hood look good, no leaks, so my question is, what would be the next step in diagnosing it?  also the 1440 is egr differential low input which im not sure is going with that one.

could these 2 be connected to the same problem?

im looking for ideas and input, thanks in advance

P0446 is vent control valve. Most likely the VCV will need
to be replaced along with the canister due to the fact that
the canister cracks at the molded in nuts where the VCV
mounts. P1400 is EGRC soleniod valve. Need to test
operation of solenoid, EGR valve, etc.

i pulled the canister off tonite, and the valve is stuck halfway open/closed, and is seized that way.  the plastic looks like it has a little give around the nuts, but im wondering if i can epoxy the space and seal it back up.  a new canister is about 175 at the dealer... the valve is 129... either way, i need the valve, im hoping to save some $ though.

the egr solenoid and valve, thats under the intake isnt it?

Half the battle is just getting the bolts out, you should
be able to seal it up w/o too much trouble. The EGR
solenoid is on top of the intake, below the air cleaner
housing, between the throttle body and valve cover. Follow
the vac hoses from the EGR valve.

i'll have a look at it tomorrow, thanks!  btw, to get the valve off the canister, i cut the heads off the bolts, one threaded out by hand afterwards, the other i had to use penetrating oil to release the collar of the valve from the shaft of the bolt, then it came out of the nuts in the canister houseing alright.  it seems thats where it seizes up, the valve housing, not the nuts in the canister.
