My check engine light show this code

Scan tool p1441 & flash code 0801

when I get it scanned.  My Haynes repair manual says it's a

Vacuum cut bypass valve.  I can't find anything online or in the book about this part.  I found a picture on ebay for one of these parts for a Maxima.

To me it looks like the map sensor solenoid valve vacuum port.

Any info or experiences with this?

P1441 is evap very small leak. Possible rusty fuel filler
at gas cap sealing surface, possible dirty VCV, possible
rusted vent hose on tank(has the fuel sender recall been
done????? (P1491 is for the v/c valve bypass valve)

Well then the book shows the wrong code.  Time to check out a new book?  Is there a better one that you like?

We also have a 1998 Frontier that has had engine light problems since we bought it used in 2003.  It's been a struggle to get the light off to get an inspection every year!  Have to get it scanned again to see what comes up this time!

the fuel sender recall - NOPE wasn't aware of it.  I was pretty sure the recalls recently were for different years.  This could have been an old one?  I'll look it up.  I thought they sent owners a notice?  The truck has been in to the dealer for a dx on a problem, I think it's interesting that they don't automatically check or ask you about it.  Thank you again!  I'll call the dealer tomorrow morning.

we bought the truck in 2004 - August.  I see the fuel sending unit recall started in May 2004.  Is it possible the Saturn dealer we bought it from did not fix the recall?  We'll have it checked out.

Lately it "chugs" a bit on most start ups - not all.  Like it may not start or it will just stall.  Other than that everything else seems fine.
