07 frontier 6spd manual that has a small whining sound..this is the
first manual tran truck I've owned..is it normal?..seems to get louder
with higher rpms. I checked power steering fluid so I know its not
that.

There is a TSB for the secondary timing chain tensioner
shoes wearing through which makes the plunger (metal)
contact the chain, thus the whine noise. Covered under your
5/60 power train warranty.

Thanks! A buddy of mine also said it could be the air pump for the
emissions and its totally normal so ill check into both. I have an
appointment for routine service monday and ill mention both
possibilities to them
