Unfortunately, I started my work week this week with getting hit by an older silverado on my '99 Frontiers front driver's side corner. Bumper, side panel, grill, and headlight/signal are all busted. The truck has been nothing but good to me so I am going to bite the bullet and fix the old girl. I have been looking for used parts to cut the cost, does anyone have any recommendations as to where to search for these parts?

I was also considering maybe putting and aftermarket bumper/skid plate combo on there instead of the stock bumper/ bumperfiller. Would this be at all possible? Are those type of aftermarket parts mostly custom?

My poor truck!

Thanks everyone.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Please resize the photo and repost it. Used parts are availible at some auto salvage yards. Even the dealers sometimes use salvage parts rebuilding wrecks. '99 Frontier 4x4s front skid plate is a seprate part from the bumper. I took mine off.

Have a good one.. Don S..

Whoops, thanks for letting me know my picture isn't working. I'll change that when I can.

Parts for this year model are so hard to find. I get the feeling everyone feels like me about their frontier and never wants to get rid of them or their parts.

I was referring to the skid/bull bar combos. Just a heavier duty off-road style bumper. I figure by the time I replace the bumper, bumper fill, and the brackets I may be up to half the price of  a brand new sturdy steel bumper. I could be completely wrong though.

I believe you're looking for what I'd call a brush guard with push bars. I have looked at some mounted on 1999 and 2000 Frontiers. Those I saw were not mounted strong enough to suit me.  They were mounted from low under the bumper cover and it wouldn't take much to push them into the grill. They might cause the damage that you bought them to prevent! so I didn't buty it.

Have a good one.. Don S..
