Hey guys had a problem the other day. Driving down the hwy hauling the boat about 70mph truck was surging alot in a bumpy area  I look at the RPM gage and she was bouncing up and down about a 500 rpm difference. I slowed down and pulled off the next exit checked the fluid  it was fine and didnt smell burnt. so I let her cool down and got back on the road. to a friends house. put some lucas tranny stop slip in drove it home real easy about 60-65 got close to home and decided to hammer down and try and repeat what I thought was a slip in od got her up to 75 and held it with no slip. question is did the lucas revive the (bands) or is there an od module in there that might be starting to go bad? any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks

..

What is the total mileage on the truck and when was the last time the transmission oil was drained? This might answer your question... The additives in the oil do wear out.

Good Luck.. Don S..

IMHO.. I'd do a simple drain and measure the drainnings then replace that with new fluid of the same amount. Then drive about nine miles and check the fluid level. Add if needed. Have about four quarts on hand. Be sure to use the correct Nissan fluid for your model. The filter is probably just a screen and can be washed.

Try it that way for a couple weeks. If it helps repete the drain process again. A flush might be good or it might bad for it!

Good luck.. Don S..
