Well, I finally got my electric fans working today in my '04 Frontier. Ambient temperatue was 95 degrees. At 3,000 rpm, A/C on and both fans operating, the engine temp was a constant 190 degrees. I was told that any temp over 195 was not good for this engine. I have a new 170 degree thermostat, new temp sensor and new aftermarket gauge.

Can others in hot climates give your engine temp readings under similar circumstances? Should my temp be lower?

Thanks.

The reason the thermostat is 170, is due to the fact that
it is in the lower rad hose as opposed to the upper hose
where it would be a higher temp thermostat.

Topic was reviewed by 41 viewers. I guess no one knows at what temperature their KA24DE engine operates. Strange.
