I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan Frontier from CarMax
with almost 80k miles on it. It has the 3.3L Supercharged
V6. A few days after I bought it, the check engine light
came on. I took it back to CarMax and they replaced a
"EVAP Charcoal Gas Canister," and this was supposed to
fix the problem. As I was driving home from CarMax after
getting it fixed, the check engine light came on again.
I've now discovered that Premium Fuel is recommended for
the engine. It's running on its second tank of regular
fuel that I've put in it because I was ignorant enough to
not realize that it required Premium. Could the regular
gas be the problem in this situation? I love this truck
and I would hate to have to give it back to Carmax. I'm
hoping putting Premium gasoline in it will fix the
problem.

Thanks in advance          ;

..

In most cases that is correct. Usually Premium Fuel will fix it after a few miles.

Have a good one.. Don S..

Reg fuel won't make the lite come on. Check for codes and
let us know what they are.
