2000 Frontier XE - 4 cyl - Mileage - 235,000 - I
originally though this was an electrical/Ignition problem
until I read this forum, now I am not sure. Problem has
been Intermittent for the last 100,000 miles but got
increasing worse last week. I do all city mileage and it
runs all day. This would be after several hours of use it
would start to buck like it was starving for fuel, it
would never die and always idle great. I would shut it
off for 5 minutes, issue would disappear and I may not
have the issue for months. Last friday I had to drive it
home it got so bad (aprox 30 miles)and acted like it
could be the Fuel Pump (had to continually pump accelerator)and it did quit but started right back up.
Saturday I fueled it up, drove 20 miles fine, today
monday I have driven it 150 miles so far, no
trouble...any suggestions, vehicle is well maintained

Fuel filter???? Check engine lite on??? NTB00-086 explains
how water will enter dist. and cause drive ability
concerns. Nissans fix is to replace the dist. w/ a new
style. I have removed the inspection plate, cleaned out the
old dist., installed new Nissan cap and rotor, everything
is fine.

Check engine light not on ...originally thought it was a distributor issue until I read this forum, however I am from Florida and it has been pretty dry here lately and right now I am having the issue. I did end up with it happing again yesterday and 2 things are seemly standing out. The fuel gauge has be below half and once it is if I let it idle for 10 minutes that will be enough to induce it, as soon as I put gas in it the trouble stopped. I can't locate my record for fuel filter so I will change it next and re-post......Thank You
