I had my Speed Sensor go out and when I went to replace it I broke the back half of the casing off and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get it out?

Thanks in advance.

Try tapping with a punch and hammer to loosen the housing
that is exposed.

There is very little still exposed, and it acts like it's
stuck in the transmission.

There is an "O" ring on the sensor that will make it
difficult to remove along with corrosion between the sensor
and trans. Be aware when it does come out, fluid will also
come out unless you have drained it already. This may be a
little late, but are you sure it is the speed sensor that
is faulty? There were a lot of concerns with the meter
assy. in that yr. Loose screws holding the circuit board
and faulty speedo assy's.

Yes, I had the code for the speed sensor throw that's how I knew plus
I have an ultra gauge that didn't read the proper speed
reading...70mph down the highway saying I was going less than
10mph. As for the dash, already know about that one...hence why I
got the ultra gauge.

The signal comes from the speed sensor, thru the speedo,
then to the ECU. That is why even with a speed sensor code,
the speedo can be the culprit. Did you take a reading at
the speed sensor to verify it is not operating?

No I did not, I just assumed since it threw the code that that's what it was. Doesn't matter now though since the speed sensor that is in there is now broken and can't be fixed other than to replace it. Now I know for future reference though, thank you.
