Hello there, just wanted to share that I hit the 90K mark on my frontier. All is
good! I have only replaced tires, battery at this point. Brakes are fine, and I
am still going 340 miles before my gas light comes on. I did replace the OEM
radio and what a difference that made. I change the oil every 3000-4000
miles using conventional oil. I am going to replace the air filter (third time) with
a genuine Nissan filter.

Hey David,

Sound's like your Frontier is doing fine.

Do you have the V6 with Auto Transmission?  I'm pretty sure that you do with a CC LWB.

If so did you do the Coolant Bypass or have a New Radiator Installed;  I'm Asking because many of the V6 AT's from '05 thru '10, had defective Radiator's, which ruptured and allowed the Engine Coolant to Mix with the AT Fluid.

You probably allready knew about this,, but in case you didn't;  from what I've read, putting in a New Radiator is the Best Thing to do, before the Coolant Mixes with the AT Fluid and ruin's the Transmission.

If you talk with Your Service Manager, he may be able to get Nissan to reimburse you for the cost.

Pardon me,, if you allready have taken measure's to address this, but in case you didn't know, I wanted to try and help you to prevent a major repair expense.

HTH

..

Really good to hear from you.

I replaced the front brake pads at 30,000. There was no wear and it was a cheap DIY. Also I thought it would help keep the disc's in better shape.

Hurry back... It gets lonesome in here.

Have some good ones (years) Don S..

Yes, I did replace the RAD since I have the auto tranny.
the RAD place new all about the Nissan issue with the
coolant and ATF mix... and I have a guarantee from them that
this radiator will not allow for ATF/coolant to mix. But,
the fine print says this warranty does not cover items
damaged, like the tranny, just covers a new RAD. I acutally
thought about just connecting the two tubes at the radiator,
just bypass the RAD. I do not pull or tow anything. I also
had the timing chain replaced at 40K due to the TSB. just
checked brakes.. I have plenty of wear left.

Hey David,

Good to hear that you are a Proactive Owner.  Preventive Service is the best thing to do IMO.

I had a '93 Hardbody KC AT 2wd, that I sold when I got a new '13 KC.  When I sold the '93,, it still had the original Pad's and Shoe's @ 176K mile's, and they still had more mile's left out of them.

I try to be easy on the Gas and Brake's, and hope that I'll get the same service out of the '13 Pad's.

Good Luck
