Auto-mechanics (and auto's in general) is a hobby of mine. I like
working on cars, I like reading about the industry, I follow the trends
and one thing I notice is the lack of love the Frontier gets. I was
reading a recent article about the new Ford Ranger. Sounds like a
great truck, but the article compared it to competition from GM,
Toyota and Honda. Honda? Not a single mention of the the Nissan
Frontier anywhere in the article. The Honda Ridgeline sold less than
half the units as the Frontier last year. It seems like auto journalists
are determined to ignore this great little truck. The only place it ever
gets any mention is from Fast Lane Truck.
I spent a year doing research and test driving trucks before I settled
on my 2016 Frontier, and it really is just awesome. I've had it for 1.5
years, and like it more everyday.
So, why doesn't the Frontier get more love?

Well the Frontier is the cheapest New Truck to be
had,, and the other Brand's that cost a lot more as
usual sell the, "You Get What You Pay For", Sells
Pitch. They can't compete on Price,, so they just
Ignore the Frontier and Try not to mention it.
I've had my '13 now for 6 year's,, and bought it New.
So far it's been a good Truck. It's still early,, but
so far so good,, and I'm getting 20.5 MPH on Average
out of the SVV6 KC 2wd AT, which is good IMO. Not the
Best,, but I'm OK with the MPG.
The V6 has plenty of power for me, and will pull what
I need Pulled no problem.
My advice is take really good care of your Frontier,,
and don't wonder too much what the so called Expert's
are saying.
I keep seeing them say that the Honda Ridgeline is a
Great Truck, and I don't even consider it much of a
Truck at all. More like 1/2 SUV and 1/2 Pickup.
I say be happy that you didn't spend a lot more money
to get a Toyota, GM, or Ford; Not knocking them,,
just saying they cost a lot more and is that extra
money spent worth it.
I say take good care of Your Frontier, do the
Prescribed Recommended Preventative Maintenance that
Nissan Recommend's and Don't abuse it in the Mud,
Water, or Rough Offroading and hopefully you'll get
your money's worth out of it.
Remember the Higher Priced Truck's have to sell that
they are worth the extra money. Maybe they are,,
Maybe they're not. All I know,, is that so far, My
Frontier is doing good, but it's still early in my
case. Course I said the same thing,, with the '93
Hardbody that I drove for 20 year's. At 15 year's I
was saying so far so good,, but it's still early.

Thanks guys...
I bought mine new Dec 7 1998
5 years ago the motor in the left mirror gave out but I can reach it. A couple of years ago some of the headliner came unglued No problem yet... the sun roof frame hold it up.
The real problem is my beautiful truck is going to out last me. It's one thing among others that makes me sad.

Hey Don,
With the way New Truck Price's are Soaring into the
Stratosphere, I'm actually hopeing that the '13 I have
will outlast me.
I need a truck for lite duty chore's, but getting
another New Truck might be difficult.
Many are saying that the 3rd Gen's will be coming in
2020, so I expect there to be a Run for the remaining
New 2nd Gen's when the Gen 3's hit the show rooms.
