I am confused!

Two weeks ago I replaced the front wheel bearings on my 2001 Frontier 3.3L XE 4x. Like an idiot I sheared off the mounting bolts.

Rather than putting in the effort to get the bolt out I decided to just replace the caliper. Both sides for good measure.

New ones come in, they appear to be a dead on match for the old ones and...? The thread on the new caliper for the mounting bolt is M12. The thread on the original caliper? M14.

I found one thread on the forum from 2011 with the same issue, but no solutions were mentioned. I am tempted to just cut the correct thread size myself, but I'd rather not mess with it if I don't have to. They are coated and it would mess up the coating pretty badly, too.

Does anyone know how this could have happened and where I can find the part number for the correct caliper? I used a parts diagram from the service manual to find these, but I guess I got the wrong manual...

You may have to put in your VIN # to get the exact part
match.

I got the Geniune Nissan Service Manual download online.
It was 9 $'s. They also have them on EBay and Amazon.
Some are on CD and other's are PDF Downloaded Section's to
your Email.

There are also Free access site's as well, but I prefer to
have my own, so I can print out what I need for a certain
Service or Repair.

I figured out they sent me the wrong calipers.

I was about to tap the correct size thread in there when I thought to myself that I should double check it properly. The holes in the original calipers and the new ones are the exact same distance center to center, but it still seemed odd, so I put the pads in and put the caliper on the truck. The rotor bottomed out in the caliper before the holes lined up with the holes on the truck.

The one I got is for the '99/'00 model. Caliper body is the exact same, so the pads fit, but the bracket is around 5mm taller on mine and the thread is M14x1.5 for mine vs M12x1.25 for the older one.

They had them listed wrong in the catalog, so I am returning the calipers and will ask for a different set. Just sucks I have to wait for them to come in again...

Gerben,

Glad you got it figured out. On my '13 Caliper's,, they are
very close to the Wheel. The Tolerance's that they work with
today are a lot closer than they were 20 year's ago.
