hello all,

maybe you all could be of help...

the starter would make a series of clicks and then i would lose power completely...  I plan on changing the fuse in the morning. The thing is, is the clicking sound and the busting of the fuse related?

Thanks :)

..

chaching;

Welcome to the group!

... The most likely problem is a non cunducting battery cable. Clean the battery posts and tighten the cables at the other end. Some vehicles have starter solenoids/relays check for that if the cable work doesn't fix it.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State . A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!

thanks lakota :)

already tightened the terminals (had to chip away a little of the lead to get a tighter fit). I didnt have any contact cleaner so i just sprayed WD40 to clean all connections and relays (those that i can easily reach hehe). Don't know much about the selonoid, but its been starting fine for the last 10 times.

Also, I just realized that my stereo has a voltmeter display, i've put it on and been monitoring voltage before starting and while engine is running. So far it has been reading 12.5-ish while engine is not running and around 13.7-ish while engine is running. I still have to check if these are good readings.

Cheers!
