 | much on reliability, but my previous truck was an S10 4x4 with the vortec
6cyl. I miss 4wd, but not the extra two cylinders (only 26hp difference).

Just dropped $50 in the gas tank over the weekend. It was under a half
tank when I got it, so it hasn't exactly been gulping the gas down (I
haven't been driving a gob, either though).

The Frontier feels sturdier than my chevy. The interior is laid out better.
The stock stereo components sound better. The seats are more comfy, the
engine layout is more intuitive, as more cabin room, better features, it
looks 'tougher'... and most importantly, it's comfortable to hang my elbow
out the window while I'm driving. As silly as it sounds, that much can
make or break a pickup for me.

I bought an extended warranty for my S10 and it paid for itself over the
course of my ownership. Fuel pump went out and a few other odds and
ends nickel and dimed me. My new(to me) frontier still has 10k left on the
drivetrain factory warranty, so I politely declined the extended from the
sales manager. When he got pushy, I reminded him I was buying a
Nissan... not a domestic (it was a ford dealership). I'm sure I'll have to put
money into it someday, but $2000 for 4 years of coverage? Just didn't feel
like a sound investment to me.

I'm on my third Nissan truck and I have never had a major issue with any of them. My current one is an 02 SE Crew V6 2WD. I got it new and have only put 60,000 miles on it in eight years. The only issue I've had with it was the thermal control amplifier for the ac went a couple of years ago. Ordered a replacement part online for $40 and its as good as new. I would definitly buy another Nissan.
