Just got a call from the dealership telling me they cancelled my appointment for a week out.

That's complete bull, they said they are extremely busy, so my Nissan gets put off and I am going on a camping trip next weekend with the family

I ordered a vent valve from Dorman Products, will have it in the morning and will have it fitted and codes cleared by tomorrow. Have to say, have not been impressed by Nissan in the way they handled this.

Wow, that is complete bull!!! I have never heard of a
dealer calling a cust. to cancel. Sometimes a cust. will
call to cancel, but usually they just don't show. It would
take about 20 minutes to replace the valve and clear the
code. I would look for a different dealer.

Yes I am strongly thinking of going to another dealer after this. They rang me at 8.30am yesterday morning to cancel and asked me to come in a week later. This was after I e-mailed them the day before telling them I would be in the following morning and I got an "ok" back from the service advisor!

Trouble is for me where I am living, I would have to go into Seattle to the next nearest dealer and that is about 2 hours away, but after this I may have to. I was also thinking of talking to Nissan USA about this incident too. I have run a family run dealership back home (Landrover) and I know all about customer care and really about protecting your clientelle. They have failed miserably in this.

Anyway I will have the non OEM valve today and if it last's as long as the OEM part I will be happy, $44 to the door compared to over $135 for the new genuiune part.

Just a quick update on the SEL. I received the Evap vent valve from Dorman and fitted it on Saturday evening. I re-set the codes and have been driving it since and all looks good
