Boomer, I used to maintain a '23 Star for a friend of mine.
Scary was the word for the brakes!! Had a '36 dodge that I
was going to restore, never happened once the rug rats
appeared. The Dodge had hydraulic brakes. There is a Model
A in the barn across the street from me, been there since
the late 60's, would love to get a hold of that.
