Ughhhhh please tell me that Nissan will take
responsibility for the paint coming off of the roof of my
3 1/2 year old truck. If they won't, is there some way I
can get through to them take care of it? It's not my
fault at all that this is happening. I just noticed it
today and it looks like it is already starting to rust.
I'm going to try to post the picture on here if it will
let me.
Please give me some advise on how to get it covered under
warranty somehow!

J,
I have a white 2007 Frontier SE that I bought in July of
2007. I was washing my truck today and noticed that the
paint is chipping off in the roof channels. I'll post some
photos.

I have the same issue with my 2008 Frontier. They don't
use enough paint. I'm working up the courage to repaint it
myself. Good luck.

Just For Your Information: This Thread is from 16
years ago.
It's my understanding that because of the EPA, The Paint has
been reformulated so that it is not as durable as it was in the
past.
On My Truck, I knew that allready and hand wash mine gently
before it gets too dirty. I use the Nissan Touchup Paint for Very
Small Chips before they get larger. I try to wax mine a couple
time's a year. So far mine is holding up pretty good except in
the Rain gutters in the Roof Channel's. The Paint there is not
lifting but is cracking, and I need to start addressing that before
it gets worse, which it will start to lft and flake off, l if I don't do
anything.
Are You Going to Repaint the Whole Truck or a Small Section?
If Maaco is available in your area, they might be an option to
check into.
I can tell you though that doing a small area,, probly won't
match very good. If it is only something like the Roof Rain
Channels, You Tape and Cover Everything Else up Good and
Are Extremely Careful, that might come out acceptable.
Trying to Paint the Whole Truck is A Real Job, If You Do It Right.
Sanding, Tapeing, Primeing, Painting Takes A Whole Lot Of
Time and Work to do it Right, and Then It Still Might Not Come
Out Right.
You'll need to do it at least under the cover of something, if not
almost enclosed in, because of the Changeing Weather
Condition's ~ Especially The Rain.
