Aloha
Im the owner of a 2007 Nissan Frontier Crew 2WD manual
trans.I've been chasing an issue with what I believe is
the drive shaft. The truck has new tires, new brakes and
rotors, new Ebrake shoes, new Struts and Shocks. My
clutch needed to be replaces and since the vibration was
already getting bad due to what we thought it was a
problem with the carrier bearing decided to replace the
clutch (Disk, Pressure plate and bearing) also replaced
the seal on the trans and since we were already there the
shaft was replaced. One may ask why didn't I just replace
the carrier bearing and the answer is because the OEM
shaft was missing a few weights due to corrosion in
Hawaii. So i replaced the drive shaft with a Chinese OEM
part.
The new shaft also vibrates and makes a similar noise
like the one when you have unbalanced tires I can feel
the shaft vibrating via the gear shifter and it is not
noticeble at low speeds (Below 40 MPH) once you are on
5th or 6th gear the noise and vibration start. We checked
the wheel bearings as well and they all seem to be okay.
This truck only has 60K miles and should not be having an
issue with the Drive Shaft but here I am stomped with 2
proffesional mechanics with over 50 years experience.
If anyone has had an issue similar to this one please
chime in.
Mahalo and Aloha from the Islands.

How About The Universal Joints?
You would need to consult the Nissan manager or His Best
Master Tech to see if the New Drive Shaft Needs to be
Balanced.

Mahalo for the response, the U Joints and Drive Shaft are
new and the DS is supposed to be balanced. I even asked for
the specs for it, supposedly the balancing is within specs.
It is absolutely possible that the Chinese drive shaft is
not balanced correctly which will explain the issue.
Losing my mind over this one for sure.
