I'm sure the cat inlet an outlets are 2.25 so yes you prob. will. Idk if
you've got up under your truck but you have 2 cats also. Have you
found a good set of headers? Ive been looking and I cannot find ain't

Yeah now that you mention it, I crawled up under my truck last night and saw the 2nd one.  If I leave my exhast pipes at 2.25 I dont know if I should just dual out the exhaust system from front to back or if for efficency purposes it would be better to combine them for proper backpressure.

Dorman Exhaust Headers Kit - 2.4L 4 cylinder

I have found a set of headers for the 2.4L but not my 3.3L.  Seems non existant.  I was hoping to find some Hooker Headers but I think they only make them for the v8 Titan.  Theres no point to me getting all my pipes upgraded to 2.5" if I cant get the headers to do the same.

I found a FM Delta 40 that has 2.25 in and 2.25 dual out... but im not sure how that affects the backpressure or the pitch of the noise of the exhaust.

When I started this venture I never realized all the choices i'd run into but I've quickly realized I dont know as much about this as I originally thought.

So what I need to know now is if its better to dual the system from front to back with the stock 2.25 sized pipe or if it would be better to just have dual output from the muffler only?

https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/long-tube-ceramic-coated-
headers-p-6141.html

That website is for a set of long tube headers and while
your on there look around they have some nice stuff.

I would love to run duals out of mine the only thing is
you can't really go higher than 2.5 if you were to do
that cause i'm sure it would throw off your back pressure
but running 2.25 duals would still sound amazing! Now if
you run them from muffler back I don't think it would
sound as good as if you were to just have a single. But
myself personally i would run duals esp. if you were to
get rid of the stock manifold and put those long tube
headers on there.

Also if you were to run a single I would defiantly get a
bigger tip it will make a world of difference.

I just found a set of Doug Thorley Headers...

unfortunately they are over $450 :-(

based on what you found TaterBob... yours are the exact same price. The reviews for these i've seen state that this is the cheapest price available since they have to be custom made since theyre not normally a mass produced item... but I guess if you wanna play with the big boys... you gotta pay!  lol

just to add to that, as we know this subject is a
very common one, in the Video/Photo section of this
forum if you set it to look back for "all" posts or
whatever it is, you can find some video clips that I
linked to the page from trucks such as ours with a
couple diff types of mufflers, granted you will not
always know if they are the cat back or custom setups
but will also give you sometimes a better idea of how
it will sound, in fact i'll do better than that and
will place a couple links here for our trucks (again,
no idea whether or not they are cat back systems or
customs, but they do identify the muffler
generally

this first one is of a truck that got wrecked but
the guy thinks that his only mods on teh engine were
K&N intake and possibly a flowmaster muffler (you'll
have to ignore the music but you can still get a get
listen to what this truck sounds like, it's pretty
mean sounding and it's an N/A 3.3), actually 3 clips
of this guy's truck, i really liked the setup he had
on it too
