I had a similar issue. My mechanic got into the dash and cleaned the wiring harnesses out and that helped for a month or two, but then the gauges would seize up after half an hour or so of driving. It seemed more prone to do this in the hot weather, so I thought it might be heat related.
Try what I did: turn your dashboard lights down to the dimmest possible setting at which you can still read everything. It worked for me. My gauges have not seized up in over a year.
I suspect that when the wire harness gets warm, it is warped just enough that it screws up the grounding. When you shut the truck off and it sits for 20 minutes, everything works again just fine. Probably heat related.
