I dont understand that as i dont see how i could have done anything to cause it. it has 115k on it. anyone know anything on this? any info you can share? thanx ahead of time.

Replace it before it fails totally and causes a BIG problem. Worry about who pays for it after the fact. Had one in a Chevy years ago. Let it go for a time. When replaced, it showed some serious issues with the bearing but luckily it had not failed catastrophically.
Can you drop and reinstall the tranny yourself and take it in to get the bearing replaced? This would save you considerable labor expense. Aftermatket warranty packages are not all you think they are going to be. You are in for a rough ride, I would think.

7.5 hours according to All-data(remove - o/h -reinstall). It's been 2 or 3 years since I've done one, seems like it was around $300 for the 6 main bearings, gaskets, seals, lubricant etc. Like you mentioned, it's nothing you could do to prevent this, unless you shift into reverse while moving forward, which chips the gears causing debris to damage the bearings. It's a mechanical part with 115k, they fail, that's why you have extended insurance. Don't let them jerk you around. It's a very easy trans to overhaul, just be sure to take it to a competent shop to get it done.

other question is, im moving to south carolina from california pulling a motorcycle and trailer total of about 1000 lbs. think i should chance it for the 2500 miles? 95 percent of the trip is flat ground or would i be heading for trouble along the way? i would rather get it fixed there where the labor rates are much cheaper in case i have to pay for it as my EW company is Wynn's and they suck. But i really dont wanna be stuck somewhere in BFD Texas.

yeah never mind, found an excellent shop out here that is going to work with me. has a couple mechanics that worked for the warranty companies before so they will be contacting them. they also know the adjusters that come out so looks like i shouldn't have any problems getting it done with no more than my deductible out of my pocket. and they can have it done in 2 to 4 days depending on how much crap the warranty company gives.

well looks like its gonna work out, shop called and said the main tranny bearings were shot and got approval from the warranty co to fix it all so only cost me my 100 dollar ded. also found that the rear engine seal was leakin so gonna do that for only 90 bucks more. good deal. only wish i had the money to do the clutch as it was only gonna cost me 400 more.
