I have had some idling surges in my 01 Frontier 2.4L over the past month. Took it to the shop and they diagnosed the IACV was bad. Up to this point just had the idle surge, no service engine light on. To confirm this, I disconnected the IACV (idle air control valve) and the truck idles perfect, hook it back up and it goes back to surging. I ordered the IACV valve, but now the service engine light remains on even with it connected back up. I tried to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes but the service engine light is still on and the IACV is connected back up. I have not installed the new IACV yet (will do it this weekend), but I am trying to find out how to reset the check engine light once I have the new IACV installed.
Anyone have any ideas? I really dont want to take it to a shop and have them charge me $100 to reset this light.
Thanks... 01 Frontier
